In an effort to give back to the clients, pets and community that we love, Goshen Animal Clinic commisioned Albert Nelson to sculpt a water fountain for pets.  The fountain received a permenant home at the Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve in March 2010.  To commemorate the placement of the fountain, the nature preserve initiated an event they would title, "Pet Day at Creasey Mahan".  The event showcased the fountain ribbon cutting as well as hosting local vendors, pet adoptions, kids activities and food.  More than 300 people attended the event, most with their pets.  The event was so popular that Creasey Mahan has made it an annual event.   

The design for the fountain has been a collaborative effort between the preserve Director, Tavia Cathcart, Dr. Brian Proffitt, Dr Karen Hagan, the management staff from the clinic and of course the artist, Mr Nelson and his wife Penny.  A special thanks must go to the Office Manager at G.A.C., Erica Chesser, who guided us to Mr Nelson and has added her artistic input on many of the fountain features.  You can find out more about the Nelsons, their creations, programs and services at : http://www.nelstone.com/. 

    The office had a fireplace in the lobby that was no longer functional, primarily due to pet traffic.  For that reason, we looked to cover the opening of the fireplace and paint it.  Once again, our Office Manager Erica, developed the idea of adding a mural to the space.  We enlisted the creative abilities of a former employee, Sarah Smith.  Sarah was able to visit the clinic, design and paint the entire mural within a couple of days.  Using images of staff members' pets, we believe Sarah captured  the essence of the animals that we care for.  The mural has now been covered in glass and we will continue to make improvements to the area around it.
